Interview: Lovely Planet

With its colorful world, positive lyrics and music changing LM.C know seduce. For the first time, the duo was in France and gave us a few precious minutes of your time .

Monday, February 2, LM.C was early in his first tour in France. After delivery of the cards of visitors ¹, in due form and greetings, we sit here in front of Maya and Aiji (former guitarist of Pierrot). After a few exchanges (of words), especially about tattoos, they tell us to tighten the pace and go straight to the interview. We comply with the order.
Do you know ten years ago. At what point did you come with the idea of forming a band?

Maya: The idea came to us without thinking much about it, by chance, because everything was formed gradually. But the group took shape when I gave Aiji, about six or seven years, a demo tape with some of my compositions. You have had a quick disclosure. What do you think is the cause of this success?

Maya: Maybe it's thanks to the career of Aiji! (Laughs)

Aiji: From the beginning, we were pretty confident of what we do and we knew where we were. On the other hand, we had the impression of having achieved our purpose very quickly or as if by magic. On the contrary, everything was done naturally and gradually. It's better that way. Soon it makes more our style.
How do you divide the work of writing themes?

Maya: Just in release of the mini-album "GLITTER LOUD BOX", we really searchable, discussing and doing pre-production. But now, the music we write each doing their part. We leave to gather our ideas in "second place" Your music is renewed every single.
How do you choose the musical direction of each theme?

Maya: Work on various topics at once, see what we want to do later. We let it come as it comes. For singles, we choose to inspire us all, the universe has a more marked.
Why did not you decided to focus on a particular musical style?

Aiji: We rock in the middle of career. Then, at the level of our personal tastes, it is true that we hear everything from pop to electronic music. For other music genres have influenced us and had fun putting these different styles in our music, but for us, LM.C, remains in the rock.
What is the most important message you want to convey to his fans through his music and his lyrics ?

Aiji:  To avoid a misunderstanding between us, let us say clearly that there is no message really, but our goal is that people who listen to LM.C forget everything else.

Maya: The level of my writing, is quite free. I do everything with feeling. I do not choose a specific theme, for example, the critique of society in which it evolves. The key for me is that people get excited listening to or come see us at shows. groucho style

in 2006, you were associated with the designer Emi Takahashi for branding groucho . What is your role in creating their costumes?

Aiji: Both work with the designer. Our participation is to create the concept of clothes I want to use. But this is a small project, there is a great brand that we want to spread around the world.

Maya: The idea was to ask: "If I'm a fan of LM.C, what clothes I would like to use" In your clips and your stage, DENKI-MAN, his skeleton punk and DJ is there. What is its real role? It is a kind of pet?

Aiji: We can say that is a pet or a skeleton rare that is for nothing ... Actually it's not really a DJ, but a dancer and a performer. He is someone who serves mainly to create an environment, especially onstage. This allows a balance between Maya and I, like a third member of the group, without actually being.

Maya: In the beginning the group, when we were looking for other musicians, think about the kind of people who wanted to join. We decided it would be nice to find someone who could do a little of everything, who knows how to give a climate (the environment)
What was the image you had in France before coming here and now?

Maya: For me, France has been synonymous with elegance in ancient architecture, sunny street. Now that I'm here, the first thing that struck me is not to understand anything when people talk about (laughs)! But for the rest, this corresponds perfectly to the image I had in France. I feel like I'm finally in France.

Aiji: For my part, I had the image of a country where many elegant cafes, a place where life is good, with streets full of trees and sunny. And once here, the image corresponded well with reality.

The energy of the French public has touched you in Montpellier and Paris. Can you tell us your impressions about each of these dates?

Aiji: What is most marked in the passion of the fans, the excitement that was in every single show. We played well abroad, often in Asia and the United States, but it is for us or the staff, we stand slack-jawed with the energy released by the French public.
² Why did you want to talk with their fans using a translator?

Maya: We said, "we are here we will talk to the fans." In Japan, at the time of MC (the conversation), we talked with the public, but it's easier to be in our mother tongue. And there, we said we would make an effort. Even if I'm wrong, in terms of pronunciation, we try to speak a little French, and can not communicate with the public, ask someone who speaks their language, to translate and surprise. What are your wishes and sounds relate to his latest album "GIMMICAL IMPACT"?

Aiji: Everything you might want to "GIMMICAL IMPACT" is that it is essential for people who will buy it, and that issues to do to continue following ahead and who can forget your worries, put them in a good mood.
You have a message that needs to pass on to your French fans?

Maya : Thank you for two memorable concerts in France. We hope to see you again and have the opportunity to return to France. Until then, expect to hear our albums!

¹ card data to be present, usually consisting name / profession / contact
² translator had put "Hang your ass" instead of "Stay-jawed," but that does not exist in colloquial Portuguese and also is not the sense of surprise, so I decided to change
