A Message from the MAD FAMILY!!

Hey everybody this is Ikari from the MAD FAMILY forums.

I just wanted to let everybody know that again this year we are running the world scrapbook project.

You do not need to be a member of the forum to participate, but hey more people who do means the community grows larger and you can meet some really cool people here!

NO LATE ENTRIES CAN BE ACCEPTED

For those of you who didn’t participate last year and want to this year, we ask that you make submissions before the deadline because we still need to send them the book and we want to ensure they get it for Christmas/New Years.

Hopefully you guys will participate with us!

LM.C, who are also starring in WU’s series*, has released a new single!

It turned out as a ”Happy Music Power Play”,

Here we’re talking with them about their latest work.

―It seems like DOUBLE DRAGON turned out as a song really worth its title, didn’t it?

maya「Yeah. Also, ”DOUBLE DRAGON” are words that have been with me for a really long time. In the beginning of this year - the Year of the Dragon - I felt I’d like to write that song. Though in the end it kind of became a sum up of 2012 instead. 」

  

―The image I got from the title made me think of a somewhat dark rock tune.

maya「Even if we advanced with minor chords it didn’t become too dark I hope. I think when making a single, you want to make it loud and flashy, so in the end we added synths and stuff to make it livelier.」

Aiji「When maya first brought this song up it gave this kind of rock & roll impression. Also when making the latest album, I felt that this more “sing and dance-friendly” rock & roll, together with a sense of electro would bring a good flow to it. Though at first, when talking to maya, the director and the other three about doing a single, we said that if it’s not typically LM.C-styled music it will become a challenge. We made DOUBLE DRAGON and some other songs but in the end we chose to release the most LM.C-ish one, didn’t we? I also feel that we forced maya to stretch his vocal powers, and I think you can sense that in the present LM.C. 」

 

―I would say that the lyrics are LM.C-ish too. It’s interesting how you use proverbs to make a change to your own lyrics.

maya「I have the feeling that our way of writing lyrics hasn’t really changed after all. Though for this song’s image, comparing with time we began our work of capturing things in lyrics, I guess I’m now using more mixed methods since I’ve also gained experience. When I wrote the lyrics for DOUBLE DRAGON, my first thought was of me and senpai. After a while, I thought that I wanted to convey a “someday we’ll all just die”-feeling too. 」

 

―Eh!? So in the line “You’re giving to me what I don’t have, I’m giving to you what you lack”, you’re talking about needing each other – What warmth, I feel that it got a stronger meaning all of a sudden!?

maya「Ah. I flew** too high didn’t I (laughs). Of course, that’s also important. But you know, on a deeper level, I also think it gives the feeling that I want you to value and care about your own life more. And for that, your partner is also important. My band-partner, my friends, and everyone cheering on LM.C. Yeah, those have made me feel like that.  Time will pass by too soon and it’s practically unstoppable. So I want to live a caring life during this time, and I want to find a way to be happy with myself. 」

Aiji「I’m glad that this song has been able to become a theme song for many people’s lives, and nowadays for me when the springtime of life, youth, has become the past, I’m also happy that I can look back, listen and sense those various impressions from that time. Please listen and see.」

** maya is using the word “flying” very often when talking about himself; simply he uses it for explaining when he’s “deep/excessively joyful/…going too far.”

A sequel to the quiz last year's December. It's a quiz about how they know. They write down the answer on paper and put them down with answers. Let's see the response of both!

Q1-What maya would pick the menu of drinks from Starbucks?

-Response Maya: Rocambole Maron.

-Response Aiji: Chai tea latte.

Aiji: This is not a drink! You can not take it.

Maya: And ooh, I like donuts too.

Aiji: You DEFINITELY can not drink that!

Maya: I would swallow them like a snake then. Though chai, tea and coffee with milk is good! If this game is as planned I would pick that. I'm an adult.

Q2-Please draw a picture of Aiji's cat.

maya: (Looking at the drawing of Aiji) Wow, looks deplorable.

Aiji: I do not know, maybe it's because it's the long way. But she'll have to cut it soon and summer will be happy again.

Q3: What is the casual clothing that uses maya summer?

Aiji: I have no interest in clothes maya so I really do not know but I'm sure he will wear it. Definitely.

Maya: Yeah, no doubt. Looks like I drew my stage clothes unintentionally (laughs).

Q4: What is the word that speaks more Aiji?

maya: (Sweet) This is what Sora is saying the figure he drew it.

Aiji: (Really?) What!?

Aiji: (Looking at the response of the Maya) No, not recently at least (laughs).

maya: Nah, but during the tour seemed that you were saying that all the time, senpai!

Aiji: Well then (laughs). Since the tour ended I have not said that. I stopped when the tour is over (laughs).

Q5: How is Maya when in high spirits?

Maya: I fly.

Aiji: It is surprisingly busy.

Aiji: (listening to the response of maya) Yeah, I understand what you mean (laughs). When you're happy, there really is a sense that both feet are off the ground (laughs).

Q6: Lately, what has been the most memorable incident of Aiji (Just something spontaneous)?

maya: Losing your phone.

Aiji: Recently I have traveled extensively.

Maya: You have stumbled lately, no?

Aiji: Yeah, maybe it's age (laughs). Since I was unable to do so for many years I have fallen lately wherever I am (laughs).

Maya: Well, that's all physical ability! Do not be so dreamy! Having a soft body you will live a long life, and you will not be tripping and falling (waves).

Aiji: Ah, so why maya is doing gym lately? He wants to live longer? (Nods)

Maya: You have forgotten the things often ein.

Aiji: Yeah. On our last tour, I tucked a white shirt that I put on the bed of the hotel. And then the shirt color is blended with the color of the bed and I forgot that there (laughs).

―Is it really true that boys prefer girls with less makeup?

Aiji「Well I think there are many different types, but in my case, I think maybe I do.」

maya「If you want to wear makeup then you should, I mean, I don’t really judge.」

Aiji「Well yeah, since you fall in love with what’s on the inside, it doesn’t matter that much, I have nothing to do with it. But to be honest, a girl who thinks her makeup is a definite must may be a bit… -For example: If you’re saying “Shall we just go out to have some food?”, and you have to wait one and a half hour from when she starts with her makeup, isn’t that kind of annoying? I’d be like, “Eh, we’re just going to eat some ramen. Aren’t you ok without makeup?” The time it takes waiting for her to finish her makeup makes going out like that pretty useless…  And even if a person wants to wear it, your total personal appearance seriously says a lot more about you than what just the makeup does, isn’t that so. 」

maya「That’s right. But thinking that she wants to look good, putting so much effort into it is what’s cute, I think. Though….there are also those who are really desperate (laughs). But hey, for the young people a makeup-less face is cute enough, and it’s good with a clear face I think. Hm. What I just said sounded like it came from an old person, really. 」

Aiji「That’s really something older people say (laughs). But well, I don’t think men notice the makeup that much. If a girl wore loads of cute makeup but her personality wasn’t anything really, you wouldn’t like her that much after all. When removing the makeup, you’d be like “Huh? Who are you?”, but if I really liked the person fully, I feel that I wouldn’t dislike if she wore lots of makeup. Basing it upon all this, liking heavy makeup or light makeup or whatever, isn’t it just a matter of taste? 」

maya「That’s it. Because what you love is “that person”. Not the makeup.  」

Aiji「Ah hah. Besides, since men are always without makeup, it’ll be fair (laughs). 」

maya「Well, I do wear very, very heavy makeup though (laughs). 」

Aiji「I didn’t count you in (laughs). 」

―False eyelashes then, what do boys think about those?

Aiji「If you want to wear them it’s ok, isn’t it? 」

maya「Yeah. I think it’s fine. 」

Aiji「Though, when using false lashes, if it takes like an hour to put them on I think you’d better skip them (laughs). If so, do you really need an extension for your lashes? Isn’t it a waste of time?

maya「After all it can be like that (laughs). You’re just fussy calling it a “waste of time” (laughs). But really, since I guess that every guy thinks differently, wouldn’t you like to look the way the person you’re fond of thinks you look the best? If your partner likes the makeup light, you’d make it light, or if he/she likes it heavy, you’d make it heavy.」

Aiji「Perhaps, if lately everyone started saying that “I like light makeup!”, then the women of the world would wear it lighter, that’s for sure」

―So, would you say that false lashes are not very “in” right now?

maya「No, no, they’re perfect (laughs).」

Aiji「We’re just blah blah blah-ing, and it wouldn’t be very typical for us, but maybe we have the chance to change the world! Creating new epidemics! 」

maya「Giving rise to a sensation!」

―You go on (laughs).

maya「Ah, but hey, regarding some people and their siblings, wives, lovers, it’s actually quite difficult to imagine that they’ve met and matched in some way, that they fit in with each other. For example, the manager of the beauty salon I go to seems like a really calm and quiet person. But his wife wears so much flashy and dark makeup, I just felt like I saw a surprising side of the manager. I really seem to be interested now don’t I (laughs). 」

Aiji「Ahahah. You do. And indeed, maybe that’s the way you get to know people’s true nature.」
