「It’s awesome to be fashionable！」
LM.C who approaches debut’s 5th anniversary in October this year, released Best album on the 12th of October and is going to perform at Nippon Budokan on the 8th of January next year. They’re exciting in many ways and we decided to feature them! This month we report maya’s fashion talk.☆
— Your not-for-work outfit coordination is unusual, isn’t it?
maya: Taking advantage of this let me do this more in many ways! (lol.) I think that if you don’t go through “trial&error” you won’t find out.
— There are no elements of an error at all today. (lol.) How are today’s photos? The hairstyle is also quite fresh.
maya: It’s awesome◎. It is absolutely great, that’s how it is. I think there’re people who want to wear various clothes on their own, but there’re also people who are not burning with desire to do so, that’s why if they got such an opportunity like KERA! they may discover an interest in it. It is an enjoyable magazine. It’s becoming a part of culture and I think it’s amazing. I feel like I’m getting motivation.
— Perhaps, you’re already struck with an idea what you’d like to wear next time?
maya: Since LM.C changes outfits with every release, it doesn’t mean we’ll be wearing them from the start for such a long time, because every time I’m afraid I’ll get tired of it. (lol.) Outfit is usually a black base so, in order to not get tired of it even if we go on tour, I always have such a pattern to gradually add more colours and then it feels like I can do various things with it.
— Speaking of costumes, a company shop of groucho opened in Harajuku.
maya: Yes, it’s so exciting. It is said that the shop should be able to develop in many ways, because it has an immensely good atmosphere. It would be great to do an event there too and I’m there every day for some reason too. (lol.) It would be great to be able to get involved in the shop in many ways.
— I think that the fashion in KERA! is quite individual, but maya, what do you think about such style?
maya: It’s so awesome! When we go to an overseas tour, we can spot kids copying things attracted by KERA! So, this one(=KERA!) is absolutely a geniuine article. Still, society is full of sense of incongruity for us, for visual-kei, for boys wearing make-up and I think that many parts of it can not generally be understood. Isn’t it that sometimes even that kind of girl’s flashy appearance is not understood by so-called adults? But, I think it’s not a bad point.
— Certainly. It might be that there is no understandment from familly and there are no friends who enjoy a similar way of dressing up near here.
maya: If you experience such hostility and discouraging glances, you should weigh your own feelings. Even if you like it, do you wanna stop it because you’re not understood? Thus, if your feelings don’t change, you shouldn't care about milieu and have it all your own way. I think it’s a good opportunity to receive that kind of “head wind”, because you can notice your true feelings. After this, when you shake free from it without feeling guilty, you’ll certainly shine, I think.
